Trauma And Orthopedics Technician

Course Details:

The programme aims at producing Trauma and Orthopaedic Technicians equipped with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes required in the non-surgical management of trauma and orthopaedic cases.

The Trauma and Orthopaedic Technicians(TOT) will work with other care providers to provide integrated health care approach. The TOT will work as middle level professional support to the T&O Surgeon or Medical officer in charge.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The specific objectives of the programme are;
• To train Trauma and Orthopaedic Technicians who would provide the necessary assistance to Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeons at the Tertiary level
• To produce middle level professionals who would provide appropriate care to trauma and orthopaedic patients at the District and Sub-District level.
• To provide a level of professional staff who would provide the important role in patient after-care re-integration into society.
• To train the kind of staff who would engage in clinical research to enhance knowledge and practice
